BIO
I went to Edinburgh College of Art in the seventies. I wove tapestries for years and paint in oils. I like photography, learning classical guitar and lacemaking. I enjoy cycling, walking, reading, films.

This looks like our mullein (sp) - they grow wild here and are several feet tall and thin. The flowers will surround the top section of the stem. Nice following to this plant.

I think it's a Common Mullein (Verbascum Thapus). Crikey, it's not gong to stay in the garden,each plant can produce upto 180,000 seeds and it can grow ten feet tall. It has many medicinal properties including asthma and ear infections.

ahora recuerdo haberlas visto creciendo en los bordes de los campos... y algunas con una altura excepcional. Isabel y yo las llamamos "trifidas" ya que tienen un punto alien. superrr!

It is a type of evening primrose. biennial - produces a low growing rosette of leaves the first year then sending up a tall spike of flowers the second year.
