Description

This was a small lagoon behind one of the black sands beaches we came across on our way back from the volcanoes. I can't remember the name of it (see a pattern here??!!), but it was beautiful. The water was rough, there were warnings NOT to swim, but the area itself was wonderful. Not only was this little lagoon part of the landscape, we saw a small homestead with amazing little corners, a huge tortoise made an appearance for us, and once again, I saw the real face of Hawaii. I took over 800 fotos while I was over there, pared them down to about 200. Let me know if you're bored, this could go on for a long while!!

Yes, to see all of the wonderful 'back roads' things such as this is to really appreciate how beautiful nature is. The commercialization pics, can't begin to describe its beauty.

This is gorgeous and that palm tree has fronds the size of Rhode Island, I think! Your color sense is strong in this one, and it works perfectly. The water looks deceptively calm, and the mood of the whole picture is quite relaxing. Great shot, as always.
