Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Now that cemetery is a place of beauty and a place of really celebrating one's life. They just cut down all of the magnificent oak and evergreen trees in the church cemetery where my family plot is located. Roots were interfering with the dearly departed's vaults and headstones.

This is lovely..all the colour is from the plants and I love it. On some graves here in the UK there is a fashion for trashy bright coloured toys etc which is unattractive.

Great shot maz, it is a beautiful cemetary, I should thrust this under the nose of our sloppy hopeless cemetary keepers here in the UK, well in the London area at least, our cemearies here are akin to a bombsite.

What a beautiful resting place! Bet it's full of ghosts who don't want to leave it... Great capture!

This is a gorgeous shot. I think that when the time comes (hopefully a LONG time from now) my tombstone will lie flush with the ground and simple read: "This is a dance floor." The colors here are fantastic, and it seems to add so much MORE life and a kind of spiritual awareness that--sadly--lacks in too many other burial places. From this picture alone, I can see that the painted church and its surroundings constitutes a great find!
