Description

More from my drive with Sig ... We left Winthrop and headed back up into the mountains, stopping to take a few pictures of things we had seen on the way over. On the east side of the Cascade Mountains you'll find a very different landscape than we have over here on the west side. In Eastern Washington it's dry and hot in the summer, and cold and snowy in the winter. We have fir trees over here, and they have more pine trees over there. You can see what the pine forest looks like in the lower image. Our fir forests have a lot of undergrowth and they're quite dark. These pictures were taken from the same place ... the building on one side of the road, the fence on the other. Zoom will give you much larger images.

How pleasant to see wooden building so in step with nature and the environment. I am sure you must have had a ball Tara.
