Description

Hello again ... As stated in the title, these are small 8x10 inch paintings ... I realize that they are probably not very inspiring and that they're off the beaten path of my usual work but they are a lot of fun for me to paint :)! They are gallery wrapped and need no frames as they are painted on the sides as well. My purpose for these is to post them on my website for sale ( shameless self promotion ) ;) Speaking of the website , I found a host that has pre-built templates for artists, I think I'll spend the money and go that route as trying to build my own is to daunting I'm just not that brite with computer stuff , I'm sure for many of you this would be a relatively simple task .... but not for me!!! As to these small fun paintings .... My arrogance has prohibited me from doing this sort of work in the past .... And have just realized the fun and enjoyment I've deprived myself of for all these years !!! Because of their size they are painted with as few strokes as possible and become studies/sketches in light and color... did I mention that this is fun???? ;) I realize that these won't get the interest/ views, of the other work posted by me, nor will they generate the type of comments you've given me in the past .... but they are fun to paint (did I say fun again?) Tonight I'm starting on a 16x20" painting of one of the oldest buisnesses in thi small Iowa town that I now call home ( still a small painting for me)!! Only I could find this much to say about these small paintings ... those of you who allready know me , won't be surprised .... as I never shutup!!! Thanks again for all your past comments and encouragement !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tom p.s. Ramathep and Greensleaves I owe you guys an e-mail you'll here from me yet tonight .... My friends from Spain and India !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I like this kind of artwork a lot. I find the artist has a tendency to put more energy and life and a bit of themselves into these type of works because they do enjoy doing them, over some of the more challenging works that they often lose heart along the way. Great job and best of luck with the website.

8x10 inch? That is 20x25 cm about size of an A4 in Europe. That is not small and since when do size count? :) The paintings are all little gems, pearls of beauty. Landscape and genre paintings have always been popular and easy to sell. Why don't you send an email to keenart(Jan Keen), he appear to know all the ropes. Check the link! (https://www.jankeen.com/secure/index.htm) It is always an reaction against modernism and abstract art in hard times, eternal values will never go out of fashion. To own a real one-of-a-kind artwork signed by the artist is the ultimate in coolness. It is a must! I like all but "Springs embrace" is my favorite, always a sucker for old barns!

You know me, I am a fan of all your work Tom. "Water Over the Dam" is very familiar to me...reminds me of numerous spots along the Saco River in southern Maine. Excellent use of the collage:-)
