Description

Perhaps everybody fishing on one side of the boat isn't a good idea. Seriously, the locals said this was a remnant of Hurricane Charlie. On August 13, 2004, Pine Island took a direct hit from Hurricane Charley with wind speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour. Dave has aunts and uncles who winter down there and own small cottages. They had repairs to make, but no one on Pine Island or Matlacha lost their life. The storm surge engulfed the barrier island and devastated many homes and businesses. This boat is sitting just off the the north side of the draw bridge and is a constant reminder of what a hurricane can do.

Stellar shot of the derelict boat, Cheri, virtually flotsam and jetsam, and headed for Davy Jones Locker. Interesting narrative.

I thought maybe my technique for picking out Christmas trees would work for the boat. You know how you find one with a beautiful shape, but it's standing with a bit of a lean, and you cock you head just a bit so it looks straight? Well don't bother, it doesn't work with this,.....of course it really doesn't work for the trees either. Interesting shot sweetie!!!

There is always something eerie about a listing boat...boats, in particular, always seem so ghostly in a sense, when they're dead, or at least mortally wounded. There's a kind of beauty as well, and you've most definitely captured that. Great work, as always.
