Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Wonderful patio..you have a great achievement here. And the collage records it so well.

The plan came together beautifully. I know about that hauling thing. I removed all the grass from my back yard with a shovel and lots of muscle...wheelbarrows of dirt, rock and dead grass and then put in a weed mat over it all, filled with a small layer of amended soil, planted the garden, laid out the marble walkway through the center, put in the center island and then dug out a walkway all around the outside that I lined with weed mats, dumped in patio sand, poured cement into cobblestone molds and then filled between the stones with more patio sand to stabilize. I got all the concrete from the hardware myself in several trips (how much can a Ford Escort haul at one time???) and moved it around back one 50 pound bag at a time. Took 3 months to complete the entire thing - garden and walks - but it sure was worth it. I can see this was worth every minutes of sweat as well. Stunning work and lovely photos.

Beautiful job well done!!! I'm familiar with all of the work and effort, but you'll get to enjoy it for a long time, and even more so getting to be satisfied with knowing that you did it yourself. Where's the grill? Going to be on the back one?? Let us know when you have it done so that we can come over and enjoy it with you.

Very nice work, Marilyn. I sure hope you have your 'shingle' hung out. (That expression means that you are for hire).
