quite wonderful idea and realization, koosie! i love the monochrome look and the beautiful simplicity and it has a fine balance over all, not easy at all, esp., when it comes to such simple layouts, love it :)))

it has the simplicity of a first rate logo, using the minimal elements with just the slightest variation in line. If one looks closely they'll see 5 things being communicated: the deep water (1 curve), the waves (next up, 2 curves with a little overlap!), the water/shoreline (the diameter-line), the simple mountain, and the sun/moon. The Japanese did have a way with abstracting and distilling: You do it very simply here, and it's still complex. Above all, the round moon/sun is the only completely filled body in the design, and it balances out the lines in the rest. It looks a little like a face too. Simple; but only those who've done these kinds of designs can know the intuition and balance that go into them. Love the slight variation in lines: These aren't repeated patterns, each 'set' has its own quirky imbalance. Fine work, and just what we'd expect from you.

So simple, yet shows so much. Makes me miss the west coast. Would make a wonderful logo for a seaside resort or somesuch.
