made for drawing day 09 - on july 6, 2009
an initiative to post 1.000.000 drawings on the net in one day.
it will be repeated every year on the 1st saturday in june.
everybody can join, all kinds of drawing allowed.

I like very much your image ...The concept of "puzzle" always came in my mind so many times for million of reasons day by day, and i think it happens because i think life like that ...or we are able or not...and enjoy...I think you may be proud! I thank you for your information about drawing day.

simple, but filled with your usual fine details. The two pieces floating on top really don't fit (I think...don't quote me!), they're meant to attach to the corner that's floating beneath them. But they almost fit, and they & the corner reveal open space where we might expect solid matter. Yet you have that grain and fine & subtle shadow that gives real depth and dimension to the piece. Your shadowing is really done well, Koosie: It looks like you have 4 or so intensities of black & gray in each shadow, and the deepest black makes a very strong separation. Everything floats nicely yet it's still solid. I'm speaking of real opposites, aren't I...You have the gaming qualities of some of the masters of mental games, piranesi, escher, etc; yet also the subtlety of the fine designers; and the care of a fine draftsman working meticulously on his/her piece for much time. There's much more than meets the eye, in other words...This isn't just a puzzle, it's a study in many elements of drawing itself; and I'm sure this wasn't easy to make. It wouldn't be for me, I can tell you that...
