Description

A continuation of my experiments with posing, expression and lighting a character, this time I took The Freak from Daz3D and added a skin mat from Daz's Creature Pack, eyes from the Kaeel character and an Orc ear morph(all posing done in DazStudio). The outfit is the codpiece from the Marauder for M3,which I had to scale and adjust to fit.The terrain is a custom rendered in Bryce's real lava texture. All the main fire effects in the hands and background are customized atmospheric nebulas applied to spheres, and the smoke is a smog volumetric with diffusion reduced, also applied to spheres. The sky and lighting are custom.Four radial lights with varying falloff settings were added, one in each hand, one in front of the character, and one to the character's left and slightly behind him.The image was rendered in Normal setting due to the volumetric textures, and took 4 hours to render. In Photoshop I adjusted the contrast and saturation levels, cloned out some hard edges, and applied several layers of flame and debris brushes from Qbrushes.com,and these layers then had motion blur effects applied to them to suggest movement.I then resized the image and added signature.Due to the extensive postwork,I decided to post in the Mixed Medium category, although the majority of the work was done in Bryce 6.1. Thanks for viewing, and any comments you wish to leave!

True to your title of the image, this guy is creating quite a turbulent situation with the glowing fire. His expression is quite genuine for the circumstances. Excellent fire effects, Neil and the lighting is top notch work.
