Taken in Cades Cove in Tennessee. I loved the simple beauty of this tree. Really nothing missing except maybe a blanket and a picnic basket.

What a beautiful tree and the mountain in the background is perfect! I wish you hadn't clipped the top of the tree off, but a great shot nonetheless! Agree about the picnic basket and blanket, an ideal place!!

for the record, I always zoom; but some zooms are total surprises even to this old-time zoomer (I was zooming in Rembrandt's day!): Full-view, this is gorgeous. The tree shimmers, you caught a very rich somewhat hazy yellowish light, the tree itself is of course quite grand, but you made it soft as well & very inviting. And you have just enough background to each side to give it 'context'. A beautiful capture of one of nature's most beautiful organisms. A delight.

A lonely tree!!! I must admire your shot tcg... There's a painting hanging on one of the walls here just like this one... a lonely tree and a hut in the background... when I seriously started painting I used that one as my teacher... I hope it's still hanging here... but as I come home seldom, I forget what's where if it's there!!! :)
