BIOSomeone once asked me what was my passion? My anwser was photography. Nothing gets me excited like a good black & white print. I have always drawn and discovered photography in my early teens. Fell in love with it and went to The Art institute of Atlanta in the late '70s majoring in photo. Worked in a custom lab for a few years and realy developed my printing skills. Did feelance off & on but it didn't pay well. I've been working for about 20 yrs. & am one of the owners in a Mining Equip. company. Not very artistic but it led me to doing CAD work. From there I got a copy of PhotoshopLE which led to harder CG drugs. I got involved in 3D and then felt a need to show people some of the things I enjoyed making. So I learned a bit of htm and made a web site or two.
I hope you enjoy the images I post. I have a great time making them and this too is my passion.

This is amazing...wonderfully moody and serene at the same time. I love the pervasive darkness...it doesn't seem threatening at all, but rather incredibly restful, and beautifully rich in texture and color. Great shot.

Lovely early morning scene!

Nice image! You can, in Photoshop CS or later versions, greatly and very easily improve dark tones with Image > Adjustments > Dark and light tones, to avoid some areas which look plain black. In older versions it's much more difficult, you have to use the Curves. Have a nice week dear Mark!

I instantly recognized Sipsey when I saw the thumbnail...the darkness doesn't need improving...this is the actual way it looks at that time of day...many places there looks like this in mid day. The most beautiful place on Earth. Met a couple years ago hiking there that had just returned from a month in the Yukon and they were commenting on how much more beautiful Sipsey was than there. Over 200 miles hiked there..most off trail...it is a photographers paradise.....I videotaped about 30 hrs worth in the place and barely touched the surface. Bankhead Forest that Sipsey lies within is just 11 miles from me. Best Sipseywilderness
