Hey, I hope you all have fun, do not lose the fun element in your photography!
Probably my last grungy upload for a while. This one was done with a "molten lead" texture, hence the brighter textured vignette. You may have noticed that not all photographs are good candidates to grunge but others increase in impact and/or mood. To me it remains a medium close to pure photography combined with some creativity coming from my emotions, without losing the content of the image. You be the judge which ones work and which don't.

Baby birds are, in my opinion amongst all inhabitants of this planet, the ugliest creatures! I'm hard pressed to think of any other species that bears such hideous looking young. Even baby spiders are kind of cute. This is a pretty cool shot and must have taken some effort to get it. I like the post work, it certainly does not detract from them in the least. Fortunately almost all birds grow into some of the most beautiful of all life.

I get it. They're shouting, "please, sir, may I have more?" With the plethora and variety of textures in this splendid shot, Piet, it's really difficult for me to determine whether this was grunged or not.

Omg, I have to agree whole heartedly with elfin12u. I never thought of calling baby birds hideous looking; and maybe that's not quite the right word, but it's close. they are not very 'attractive', but they sure grow up to be all such beautiful things .. U know how I love all birds :) Fantastic grunge again sweetie... Love your work; all your shots, and how you look at things in such a special/unique way .. it makes you the one and only busi 2 ness / P W of Africa. :D

In this case, I think your postwork serves to focus our attention on the main subject. I can easily imagine that the original photograph might have been too busy ... too much detail. The grunge serves much the same purpose as a close crop, while still affording you a good amount of blank space. Nicely done!
