Description

This is the old lighthouse in Swakopmund in Namibia! It is not in use anymore but is maintained quite well and the bottom part is actually a restaurant! With this image I would like to wish two of my sons a Bon Voyage! One of them WON a fully paid trip for two to London for the T20 Cricket Worldcup. They will be departing tomorrow for a week and part of the price is attending the two semi-final matches as well as the final at Lords - the home of cricket! Leroy and Ray - enjoy every moment, have huge amounts of fun and return home safely! I love you! Thank you all for your comments and favs on my previous upload. I do appreciate it so much! Hugs, Carin xx

What a place full of character and strength well portrayed! Your sons won the cricket trip? You must be devastated for not having the chance to sit at the games every second of the day Carin, I know how you love cricket. Lucky devils. May they have a safe trip and lots of fun!

Superlative POV, colors, clarity and composition in this marvelous snap, Carin! The olde structure does look in pretty good shape and well maintained. And since you mentioned the cricket Worldcup matches in jolly old England, let me drop in a note about our Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA basketball championship yesterday. It was a long, grueling season. You probably watched it on your telly.

This has such an exotic look to it! We have lighthouses here, of course, but I would never mistake this for something local. What a fabulous image! I love the rather Moorish detail on the walkways, and those lush palm trees ... wow. Gorgeous photograph!

I was born on an island and grew up around lighthouses. Like the way you framed it with the palms and very happy that someone is maintaining it. Best of luck to the boys and a safe return. Dana
