My real name is Markus. I live in Germany in a little town between Chemnitz an Plauen - i don't think somebody knows ;-).
Last year I buy me a Nikon D40 and now I be able to take much more pictures as before. The macros I shared are all freehand-shots.

Seriously? They are friendly for the most part?! Well- ya learn something new every day- I thought they were just like wasps. I guess they can be differentiated by their lack of tapered area ahead of the thorax. Very nice macro again- in this one you can clearly see where the stinger comes out of!

Did you know it's easier to pull a hornet's stinger out then a bee's..... at least that's what I am told, I've never been conscious for it though. Awesome macro, I have never gotten close enough to see where the stinger comes out.
