Description

I have been at this one for 2-3 weeks concentrating mostly on texturing... not much time spent on atmo and water ! Geocontrol terrains (3 of them) and rest is Terragen with one projected image map (as a bumpmap) for displacement in the cliffs. I know the snow is not perfect but was getting tired ! The trees were X-Frogs from the collection that was assembled for the Terragen Bundle. 6 different species but from this distance you can barely see the difference ! So in all this is my second try at doing something decent with TG2 and welcome comments. Thanks to all at the Planetside Forum that have provided me with significant help and advice ! Take Care !

This is excellent. Thought it was a photo capture at first. All of the time and work spent on this was well worth it.

Terrific island - I think the water is just right for this and I love the rocky shoreline. Bravo!

This is an awsome pic. Though you did mention the snow not looking right the quickest fix would be to raise it so it doesn't come to close to the trees line(which had no snow on them). And the peeks of the mountains are too sharp. They would have one or two points between the two of them but they would be subjeted to errotion, thus smoothing the tops. The atmo is nothing to complain about. If you were from the mountains you would know that in the vallie like this you are in the mountain shadow and would have no cloud cover and crisp clear skies most of the year.

Good one, Paul! You really have to work on the rock walls, though. And the snow. If you get that done right you have a definite winner! Cheers, Frank

This is a stunning one. Realism at it's best. It could be a photograph of the Northwestern USA... beautiful POV, glassy surface and clear blue sky. The atmosphere is a perfect setting for this.

Très réussi, même si les textures des montagnes à l'arrière plan semblent trop régulières. L'ile et les reflets dans l'eau sont excellents !!!

A beautiful composition, but the mountains, being large and far away might not have as much sharp detail on them (visually and probably physically - erosion). All in all, for everything you did here, a pleasing result.
