Description
I seriously have no idea what possessed me to get anywhere near these guys. I have no EpiPen on me, and get up close and in the mix with a bunch of bees.One sting and it's emergency room via rescue squad. All for one close up. They were very busy with this bush of heirloom roses called Morning Has Broken. I thought you would like to see this furry little guy, with his big black eyes. They did come check me out, but the roses were far more interesting, and no rescue squads were called on this occasion.
I thought I would take a break from the quarry shots. I still have many, and more ducks.
Thank you for looking, and all the wonderful comments on my previous posts. I love them all, and all of you guys too.

Boss update: I think someone spiked his coffee, He gave the entire company July 3rd off with pay, because the 4th falls on a Saturday. In the 4 and 1/2 years I have worked there, never has he given a weekday off with pay because the holiday was on the weekend.So I guess I will get a break then.

I'm not really sure what all the fuss is about, Just because she has an allergy to bee stings, and no epipen. I have been trained in first aid, been a first responder for years, so none of you really need to worry!! Besides,....I even know the Heineken maneuver! Cheri loves flowers, and unfortunately for her so do bees, the combination always makes for an interesting mix. I've tried to explain, that moving quickly and waving your arms wildly about, draws the interest away from the blossom, and causes them to focus a bit more acutely on her.......of course this is all easy to say from someone without the aforementioned allergy, and had never experienced the problems associated with such. I'm hoping that she's not developing the "whatever it takes" attitude,....not sure where that would come from. And the boss thing, not sure why we would even consider something so far out of the norm for him,....you all haven't been writing threatening letters, or making special phone calls have you? If so,...........thank you much!!!! Awesome, "big brave dog" capture with this baby!

Great capture! If you want to take pictures of flowers, you have to put up with bees. It's been my experience that they generally ignore me in favor of playing in the flowers, but ... maybe you should carry an epipen if you're going flower hunting? Just an idea. :) Maybe I should have had an epipen the day I was standing in front of that avalanche chute! I'm sure it would have been a good idea, since everyone seems to think it keeps you safe from danger when you're taking pictures. :D

I believe the insect was much more interested in performing its daily chores than in the fact that a nice young lady was doing a great macro of it on the lovely bloom. They have to be really antagonized before they seek revenge. And, what's an Epipen? Anything to do with epinephrine?

a big splash of a shot, beautiful yellows & whites, and it looks like the bee is snug as if he were in a sleeping bag. I know people with that allergy, and I know anaphylactic shock is scary stuff. But as long as you don't attract attention or wear anything that's overly sweet (attracting the bee to you), you should be fine. But don't listen to me, I live in a highrise in the middle of Downtown Chicago, I rarely see a fly! Beautiful lush shot, and great to see that bee snuggled in there like that.

Cheri wonderful shot!!! Generally if you leave them alone ... and don't scream and wave your arms wildly they will leave you alone... They want the pollen more than you. Heineken maneuver... LOL a beer Heimlich maneuver... and thats for choking not an allergic reaction. Made me laugh, great macro!!! I am more inclined to run or duck from the wasps, but gave up screaming a long time ago pretty much...
