Someone, (Mark) anahata.c hinted to me that there was a lack of cows and barns in the galleries. Well we can't have that now can we....
LOL, these cows lived on the road to a mill in Virginia, that I visited recently. I got a bit turned around, and saw this barn so stopped to get a shot, and the cows here came almost running to me, like they never saw a silly blond gal aiming a little black box at them before, and so I actually said to them, do you all know where the mill is, I got NO reply, imagine that, then I noticed the mail box by the fence I was standing near and that it said the address and then Mabry Mill road, and I realized well at least I am on the right road here, I had seen no sign when I turned on to it. So then I asked them to pose for a quick photo they looked quite bored with it all, but they did do a quick pose before they Moooo' ved on.
I hope you all enjoy your day.
added note: a few of you asked how I created my last photo, so for those of you that asked I sent you a site mail. Mostly I played, and it was mostly trial and error till I got a look I liked. I hope my instructions or steps help a bit.
Thanks to all that took the time to visit my gallery and to comment on my work, I appreciate you all.

Moo over, Elsie. The only legible words I ever heard from the mouth of a cow was, "Do you work out?" Really stellar DOF, clarity, colors and textures in this pastoral vista, Lynell. I like the architecture of that barn back there.

Love the "story". Great capture. I have a new camera for Father's Day. I'll be off looking for old barns in the morning. If it stops raining. Dana

lol...for the first time in my life, I've been identified with a cow! (Trust me, I've been identified with a lot worse—cows, I'll take!) I've asked cows for directions & generally—after shouting "mooo" 2000 times—they say they don't 'travel' much so aren't the best animals to ask. Then they ask if can spare a couple a bucks...Well, even if there are cows & barns on RR, you still have one of the best collections on the site. I really like this shot: Two cows really are posing for you. Then you caught the one, left-back, who could care less (and you got her tail in motion: great capture!) And the other two are pretty much having lunch...I love the barn & I love the flat open land: very midwestern (even though you were more east); and I love the open quiet feel, which is what these old fields are like. And truly, if that barn isn't in your gallery, it should be: It's one of those classic old structures that stands tall even when it yawns from age. And I like all the other stuff around it too: the big cart, the fences, etc. Really nice shot Lynell, and thank you for making me the "cow guy" in front of the whole world, lol. It's a fine picture, and I'm always happy to be mentioned next to pictures like this. Good to be back here again.

Thanks Lynell, for the info, this is a great photograph, there is an area near me that I like to photograph of hills off in the distance, and always I'm surrounded by cows that block my view!

I actually haven't asked a cow for directions but I guess if you get lost who better to ask, as they are local.

Very nice! At last a barn! But if I can have one small complain, it isn't old enough! But you have restored the balance!
