Description

Hi! Thanks for looking in. I've been playing around with the Vue tutorials available over at Quadspinner and I had post this just to put in a quick recomendation. The landscape was created while going through the free "Desert Sunset" tutorial and I tweaked the atmosphere out while watching the "Capturing the Brilliance of Light" tutorial. Vue 7.5i render with 'superior' quality settings and global radiosity. I pushed the quality settings on the atmosphere and lighting up and let it run overnight. Some of the rock materials are from Chipp Walters' fine "TerraPak" set. The guy walking is one of Predatron's Low Rez People available at DAZ. The only postwork was a bit of framing and titles. I also reduced the resolution by about a third - I felt the details in the original size made things a bit 'busy' and the piece works better at a scale whey the eye can take it all in. If you're at all interested in working with landscapes in Vue (and what Vue-er isn't?) I highly recommend going over to Quadspinner.com and checking out the freebie tutorial - just be advised that it may lead to you giving Quadspinner some money to learn more :) The paid tutorials clock in at over an hour each and while they're a bit pricey, they're packed with information. As always, your comments and constructive critique are appreciated! Even on a little doodle like this, I'd like to hear any ideas you might have for improvement. Special thanks to all my friends here, at DAZ, at Dreamlight and at DAZ Artists Guild for helping to keep me inspired, informed and enthusiastic about my art.

Fortunately, I wear glasses, so my eyes didn't entirely pop out of my head. This is really fantastic, sir. Makes me want to take on Vue also - though the sane, albeit small, part of my brain says I need to stick with what I have already and learn to use them to their full potential. So, I shall simply have to sit back and oooh and aaaah over your lovely creations.

The only thing that throws me off is lack of high sedimentation for erosion. Usually in deserts there is a high degree of this type of erosion but i'd imagine this would be very hard to do in Vue alone.
