The mysterious Mabden woman, who came to Old Hrolmar with Avan Astran when he returned in his youth, Nadjana is the Duke’s devoted bodyguard. She has never spoken of her past, and he will not shared what he knows of it with anyone, but as a woman born on Pan Tang, she would have been treated as nothing more then property, so its hard to fathom how she managed to escape the Demon Isle or gained training in arms. However, her skill and dedication to her duty are beyond question… Even if the full extent of those duties is often the fodder of tavern talk. Targeted by the fanatical Knights of the Cleansing Flame, also known as the Inquisition, Nadjana was taken off the streets of Old Hrolmar to be “questioned” about her influence over the Duke, prompting him to enlist the aid of Daeron Syn, a renegade Dragon Lord, whose companion Nykira Ardonni was also captured, to rescue her; which resulted in the near total destruction of the order and their Abbey in the western Iron Hills. Unfortunately for the citizens of Vilmir, the Inquisition rose from its own ashes to continue their unchecked reign of terror, but never again dared to act directly against her or Duke Astran.
