Description

Photos taken in the Presidential Aircraft Collection at the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton on Monday, June 8, 2009. Decided to upload these photos today because Andrew (blinkings) said he'd like to see more of us come out from behind our avatars. It just so happens that I got this photo of Rob (debbielove) giving us all the royal wave (he is British you know) as he follows in the footsteps of Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan. I'm not kidding, take a minute and read the sign. Hope you don't mind my jumping all around on our grand tour taken earlier this month. Best to you all for the rest of the weekend! Please ZOOM to read the sign...excellent details. Bill:)

Very well presented. This is another new display since my last visit. I always suspected that Rob was the long lost Stuart pretender to the throne!

So that's how debbielove looks! Fascinating. I always wondered about that. Stellar POVs and lighting effects in these shots, Bill. In that left foto POV, the Lockheed Jetstar looks a mile long. I love rear mounted jet engines. And, there's a lot of surrounding hangar structure to all this. BTW, on yesterday's posting, I tried to figure out the make of that mystery blue aircraft at the bottom, and because of the apparently short nose on it, the closest I could come up with is either a Grumman F9F Panther or a Hawker Hunter.

Never seen this before, way cooler than a 747...President Rob has obviously introduced "dress down Monday" and given his Secret Service guy's the day off.We Brit's are good like that :)

That's a very royal looking wave there and a very impressive looking plane, with its sleek lines. Nice captures.

fine shot of a plane familiar to us in the U.S. You got a good angle and good light, and I love all those rafters. And the shot of Rob is really nice, as he looks relaxed & easeful walking down the stairs. I mean they're not any better for having been tread by a president than having been tread by him or you, right? Very nice shot of a friend you shared a great trip with. And interesting text too...

Wow it would have been interesting eavesdropping on the conversations that occurred over the years on that plane. Great shot Bill. I thought Rob was the Queen for a moment! Hey at least I didn't mistake him for Prince Philip!!!!!!!!

Oh gosh ... Rob has that wave down pat! "Just treat me no differently than you would the Queen!" :D Great idea to shoot the sign and include it. I didn't have any trouble reading it in full view, although I nodded off part way through. Still! Good call. I know there are others here who would have been on the edge of their seats! Saves a bunch of typing. Great presentation! Now I'm off to see Rob's picture of YOU!
