UPDATED:Â September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
Â
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
Â
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
Â
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Â
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Nice pics of the various aircraft
goodoleboy
Nice shot of the varied consortium of aircraft on the museum floor, Bill. I need to see more of the blue mystery plane before I can even attempt to ID it. It appears to have a short nose in front of the cockpit, and may be Canadian. I have some fotos of the AT-6 Texan in my last years files that I'll post shortly. What is that rectangle of amber film or plastic I see behind the MiG-21?

I have no idea what's what, but I love the light and reflections!!

Very cool! Nice collection of war birds.

You should have called security to get that funny looking guy out of your shot. Some people are soooo inconsiderate aren't they. ;) Seriously though, I have the same problem regarding time at museums. I rush around everywhere shooting about a million things. Then when I see the photos, I don't remember even seeing half of the stuff in them! I've done that at countless places including Le Louvre, the Guggenheim..........and probably a heap of other places I dont even remember going to! I spent 5 days at Disneyland once and it still was not enough to see it all. I hope Rob ends up in lots more of your shots. Its great to see other photographers work, especially those with the amount of talent you guys have between you.

Great shot, lots to see...not so long ago Rob would have got 30 years in the Gulagh, for taking that photo.Blue jobby up front...A4 Skyhawk of the Blue Angels ??????.
skipper62
Great shot. The mystery aircraft appears a bit like the Blue Angels A-4 Skyhawk. Of course the best looking bird in the picture is the F-4 even if it is Air Force... Saw a few of the MIG 21s while in Nam. Good bird. The bird could perform but their pilots were limited in what they could do. A blessing for our guys.

It's nice to see others identify and talk about what you've captured; there's a fraternity of people here who know & appreciate it. But I want you to know that, while I know nothing about planes, these shots are wonderful. I've appreciated them in other galleries too (I've loved everyone Harry has posted), and I appreciate them on 2 levels: One, for their history and importance to those who flew them; and 2, for the amazing skill & eye that you all bring to them. This is a beautiful shot, Bill, the motion of the these planes, moving from the foreground into the mid & background, is quite fine (the motion of their lines, that is); and the contrasts of light and sheen, as well as the clarity in even the back planes, is equally striking. Fine job, and I assume not easy given the lighting in these places. You're very adept to these spaces & their light. This is a beautiful capture. I'll see as many as you have to post. They're beautiful. (btw, just an aside: As a fellow midwesterner, we had the heaviest thunderstorms since Moses crossed the Red Sea. It was blasting the last few nights. Just thought I'd throw that in. You probably had them a day before we did—thanks. I appreciate your sending them, lol...)

Another great collage here Bill...(Hors d'oeuvre)
Buffalo1
Very well composed museum shot and Rob at work is an added treat! (I'm with neilwil, the blue plane is an A-4 Skyhawk in Blue Angels livery.)
artaddict2
Like the POV Bill, some cool hardware here, great shot!
Tamarrion
Echoing Neilwil & Buffalo1 - the blue nose & canopy is a Blue Angels A-4. Goololeboy - are you referring to the the narrow strip on the side of the Phantom? It's a light panel for position/formation keeping.
orig_buggy
I could not image sitting in one of those ...what wonderful history
jendellas
The pics are really good, especially taken inside. Enjoying them.

Great capture and I agree with the others as the yellow lettering on the side just visible suggest Blue Angles.
