Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I see heartache in these words Maz, words I could sure relate to a few weeks back!...some people just think they can trample on other people, they'll get theirs sweetie, you see if I am wrong.

I kind of sensed you weren't the same a while back. Funny how our feelings, whether good or bad, are able to show thru our art. I hope you are feeling on the upswing and have a big, bright smile and your heart is like new.

I not only like your words, which I always do, but there is a lot of symbolism in the photo you chose to illustrate your poem. Red sky at night, sailors' delight...and the silvery shine on the water...a bright and lively outlook for tomorrow. What more could you ask for? Super!!!

Well said and illustrated. I have had a broken heart too many time myself. Maybe I should post some of my poems too. Hey, life goes on. They'll get theirs in the end. Aloha

Awesome poem, the first verse pretty much did me in!! Hope you don't mind this,..."Doesn’t take much To break a heart A word A deed Or the lack Thereof" Too many words and deeds of the wrong kind, and complete lack of the good one!! So can anybody commenting after this let me know the answer to this question,..please. Do we ever get to the point where the hurt is gone forever, or will there always be a sliver, so deeply embedded, always there to remind you? I love your poem Andrea, thank you for sharing!!

Marilyn, I apologize for the name mix up on Elin12u's behalf. It's my fault, I was busy in the kitchen and half heard him. As for the poem It's so true, I think we have all been there at least once in our lives.

It was the best of times, and the worst of times. Stellar reflections and colors in the accompanying image, Maz.

touching poem Marilyn, and once again you use lines well, two long lines with real feeling, then the 4 short ones, like breaths, letting out all the pain and struggle (like they're dropping off). You write with breath & feeling in your words. And I like the Spanish tagline, we're broken in our hearts...but as it's said, a broken heart is an open heart, and you have that in spades & your gallery and life burst with light everywhere, so you've risen above it all. And I agree that photograph is wonderful. That's an upload in itself. Wonderful, hope the light continues into the horizon!

You've put so much into such a small space. Beautifully written, and the closing line adds such music. I'm glad you posted this - it's one of my favorites.

This is quite touching and--no pun intended--get straight to the heart of the matter. The thing about heartbreak, which you've touched on so precisely, is that you do get over it, though the process of doing so never feels like much fun as you're going through it. It also points to the fact that heartbreak occurs only when someone else was actually worth it to a degree, even if--in retrospect--that degree was minimal. Fantastic perceptions, as always!
