This is superbly done and yeah, it's a perfect birthday gift as well. Fantastic on both counts. I love the light and color here, as always, and your postwork is spot on as well. What's even better for me is the unopened flowers on stalks: they look like occular stalks for some underwater alien surveying the reaches of the air in search of something tasty and slow-moving, perhaps. Oh, the directions my brain goes in!
