Description

So just last Monday, I took a trip down the Merced River with my son. The water was about 50 degrees, running at around 1500 cfs. This is LAST year's trip, the first week of May. Water--45 degrees, 4500 cfs--and boy, does THAT make a difference!! Way beyond my comfort zone, but what blast it was. Check out the other foto for comparison****. PS--Mark, if you think I was crazy this year, there will be no doubt when you see this one!!! oh yeah---DO zoom!! ****last week's trip

You look so vibrant and filled with glee doing this. Watched a program on TV this past week where the Navy has their own special set-up and water flow controls to train for such river activity. Was really interesting.

LOL, I believe you! Maybe last year's trip did you in for a year! (Me? I'd have stayed in bed for ohhhhhhhh, 7, 8 months.) I take it you're all in more than one raft, because if you're taking the pictures, then you're a little bit removed from the ones we see. But lord, the waves here are stunning, beautiful boisterous shots, they really capture the madness of the water and the sense that you all "went with the flow" which I assume is part of the tact on rivers like this. Great shots., lots of fun to see. Amazing.

Superlative snaps of the intrepid crew trying to negotiate the hazards of the rapids, Maz! I'm beginning to feel a bit queasy after following the fotos in this collage.

These are awesome shots! Our trip down the Kern wasn't quite this exciting. The rapids there are class two and three. Not bad for my first time though. Despite the dunk I had a blast!
