Description

=I named this "graft" but i would like to name it "WHY"...and i wanted to share this with you, because it´s a challenge for me...= =As far as i know, the behaviour of nature against the adversity is similar to persons:self-defense. I go to this place, near my house,to have my offee, for 7 or 8 years ago and i do this everyday...I saw this trunk grow and grow!!First, he was behind the wired and after he begun to intertwine through the network.I put it out of the wire several times, till i couldn´t do that anymore, because he was too strong. He never had green foliage (always dark)...for me,he grown old from the beginning and he is yet growing, more thin between the network and fortifying in their two sides... Now, i repair that the network is into the trunk and make part of it,AS A GRAFT.strange isn´t it?

I suppose that one reason for seeing this tree in the masculine gender is due to the phallus appearing shape. However, it might be female, reaching for the sun. I like to think of this limb raising it's "arm" in praise of the life giving creator. It is interesting to watch something that seems doomed, and see the miracles of nature, how the can surmount the limitations that humans put in its way.

Interesting thoughts and image Ana!!!! As far as I know humans are the only life forms that will give up on suvival at times (ie suicide). I guess that means all other life forms will do anything possible to survive, no matter what. Then again I'm not really sure of that, I just saw it on a science show the other day..lol Everything can be debated!!!! It's a wonderful photo and interesting topic for discussion!! Fantastic work!!!!

oh ana, a beautiful image & wonderful observation. Sometimes things continue blooming even when they're blooming in adversity (or even in madness): They just have the strength to overcome adversity. But here, the tree doesn't just 'overcome' the fence, it melds with the fence (grafts). And that's symbiosis—in latin, literally "biosis"/life in harmony: ie. life growing with other life. Suzanne's words are beautiful, re. the tree—female—raising her arm in praise of her Source; and noobasaur makes the interesting point that only humans give up under adversity. You've opened up a dialogue...But above all, the photograph is another of your bold captures, with intricate detail but also an overall power and immediacy: Your photographs are bold and sculptural; and this one has wonderful shade and recesses as well. Another complex and powerful upload from you, one of our truly powerful artists.

WHat a fantastic and amazing proof of the strength of mother nature. Funny, it makes me think about a beetle, in my bathroom one evening. It was laying on the back and fought so hard to turn, but couldnt. Well I am wierd. I helped it turn, but it seems, it had been laying there for long time. It was weak. Next morning it hadnt been able to walk into the panel and hide, but it was still fighting. I asked my husband to put an end on its misserable life.

Seems like you care a lot for trees, which is a very wise and good thing to me. I show respect for these beings knowing there is life and a lot more deep within them...A stunning and beautiful capture you've come up with here !

This fascinates me immensely! I've seen trees and various other plants doing the same thing, especially here in Chicago, where there seems to be this war between nature and it's opposite. Great observation here, and I love the photograph itself. There IS symbolism in this, but also great beauty. I think that's the thing about nature, beauty, love, and all of that other good stuff. It always manages to triumph, even if it has to graft itself onto or into other things! Great work here! I love it.
