I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

What a charming creature--the spots on his wings look like the inner workings of my computer!! (I wonder if he can fix it when needed??? lol)

Very interesting. A guinea fowl must be in the same family as a turkey from the looks of the head and neck. I've never seen one in person or in bird :-)

They are kept here as ornamentals, they do appear to have very tiny heads! This is a lovely 'action' portrait, Carin!

ALTHOUGH I PREFER TO WATCH THESE BIRDS, RATHER THAN EAT THEM, THEY ARE ATEABLE. THEY ARE SAID TO HAVE THE TEXTURE OF CHICKEN AND THE TASTE IS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN CHICKEN AND TURKEY. I LOVE THE PLUMAGE ON THIS SPECIES. P.S. THEY MAKE GOOD WATCHDOGS, TOO.

Ok, I've seen more glamorous birds but none that have such a look of competency and pride. Fabulous pov on this and amazing work with film.

One of those curious yet endearing game birds who are very adaptable it seems I came across a flock of wild ones here in the UK some time ago

Yes, I'm forced to agree with you that these are not the prettiest fowl on earth, but you did a magnificent job scanning and preparing this film foto for our consumption, Carin. Love the feather textures.

Wonderful capture! And just look at all those spots. I'm going to have to discuss the possibility of our birds getting more interesting markings up here!
