I resolved to stay away form the wolf for the rest of the trip. I won't mention just how short a period of time that resolve lasted. It's rather embarrassing. I might have been content to ignore him if he hadn't been content to ignore me. It was infuriating. All the man did was sleep and read my logs. I leaned over the back of the chair and read over his shoulder just to annoy him. "I fail to see what my exchange of recipes programs with another scount has to do do with anything, Commander." The infuriating man still hadn't told me his name. He grunted and skipped to another entry. "Commander...you do have a name don't you?" I could see the muslces in his back and neck shift and tense and he said nothing for a several heartbeats. "Conte, Nick Conte," he finally growled reluctantly. "See now that wasn't so bad was it. You can be polite if you really try." "You like to live dangerously, scout." "By definition, Commander. By definition," I replied with a grin.
