Description

These flowers remind me of my childhood. I lived on a large housing estate which had a brook behind it with fields, as kids we used to spend time up there investigating our surroundings. There seemed to be so many fox gloves but nowdays we see them far more rarely here. Susan Thank you for your support on my previous post " Camelia 3 "

Foxgloves quickly form colourful clumps to liven up areas of light shade, attracting masses of bees. The common name has nothing to do with foxes. It's a corruption of the phrase 'folks' gloves' - fairy folk were said to use flowers as gloves. The Latin, digitalis, refers to the flowers' finger- or digit-like shape. I hope this helps

I noticed that wild foxglove and delphiniums seem to be harder to find. And they aren't planted in gardens much these days either. This is a treat ... great shot with such a familiar feeling ...

I walk around the hills and farmland of West Yorkshire and we see a grat deal of foxglove in the wild, this is a splendid capture and I love those droplets of water, excellent detail to your shot, Bravo!
