Description

Hi there. I hope you remember the "Laughing larva" from one of my last year shot's: thumb_1714408.jpg I think the moth only changes the colour of her socks in the winter. The whole winter I was full of hope it was a female one - and what should I say. My hopes where fulfilled. The little "girl" gave me about 170 eggs. I don't know how the male comes to her (I think they done "it" through the gauze of the box I left her in the night after escaping the pupa), but my neighbor found him in his room and in the morning hours there where the eggs. Hope the larvae will hatch next time and I will be able to take some awesome shots. Hope you understand my explanations and enjoy the shot, surely taken with the new lens. You should zoom in...

Looks like a furry blanket almost! You gotta love the intensity of almost microscopic detail you can now capture. The depth of field is very narrow with macro lenses, as you can see. If you use a hot shoe flash or ring flash you can provide more light and also expand the depth of field by stopping down the aperature with the increased lighting, thus creating a macro with more of the subject in focus.
