Description

for a drink of water. Today we had 95+ degrees and the deer decided that they needed some water to drink. I had not realized they were in the yard until my parents' bird, Piper, started cheeping madly. I looked out the window and saw this deer and another roaming the yard. I grabbed my camera and too about 8 shots. I now understand where the water has been going from the bird bath.... the deer have been drinking from it. Later on this evening, the two deer came back up the road and my mom and I took multiple photos of them plus, we were right next to the Hummingbird feeder and we were buzzed several times by this one fine fellow, whom I'll post later on. I got a bunch of photos of him as well. He was only 3 feet away from me. All in all, it was a very exciting day for me seeing the deer and the hummingbird. Thank you all for your wonderful comments and faves. Have a great Friday. Mike

That's just too amazing he's still drinking... he had to have seen your movement... wild animals are feeling the heat too.

WOW Mike...this is a fabulous shot! I like the fuzzy covering on the antlers! Around here you see mostly females, and young bucks with antlers only about 6 to 8 inches long with no fuzzy's! Awesome shot!

Excellent capture!!!! But yes the heat is bringing critters to what ever source of water they can find... we are having a drought here, but no deer, but reports on snakes and I have a major ant invasion that the pest guy says is because of that and I have Hillbilly tub and water the garden so they love me... I am going to have to call the pest people back the ants are getting in my well house now... eek could cause major problems....
