Description

This is the painting that will be donated to the library... sometime next week, depending on the board members schedule, as they want them all to be there. Oil on canvas 16x20" I finally finished it, had to much going on, I was pleased that the few board members that have seen it liked it. Thanks for looking and all your past support, I apologize for not getting around the galleries lately ... things have been hectic to say the least, I pray things will calm down soon !!!! Thanks Tom

God work Tom! You know when you are dead and famous (you know that it works that way), people will say that "it is one of the best examples of the beginning of the second millenium style of American genre painting". You don't know about it, but the flag at a library is so - American,-for other people that is! I especially like the archaic telephone poles too.. Are you really going to give away such a valuable piece of work? But maybe it is best that way. You take possession of your town! In this times of recession a picture like this has many bottons, will the American culture stand steadfast against the economic onslaught from the asiatic countries? Only time will tell. But if I should condense the message(s) radiating from the picture in one word, I would say, stubbornness!

Great work of our small little town....I do still think that the upload doesn't give it value enough! The real piece is sooooo much more attractive!! Love you! Trina

You've done a fine piece and I'm glad the board appreciates what you've done! Like the two birds on the wire as they bring a bit of flesh and blood to the scene of brick and mortar:)

Great painting, Tom! I don't know how anyone would not like that. It is a tremendous gift. My one word is for this is "unspoiled".

Industrious readers usually book a space in a library, or is that librarians space the books? Whatever, books are booked if popular. (My apologies, just feeling whimsical!) I like the solitary car, somehow I have the feeling the day is early, doors just opened, other staff still to arrive, and the bustle of custom will take over - the beginnings of another day!
