Description

Today was a highlight in my life. :-) I finally got close enough to some Pelicans to get some fairly good shots! (Pathetic huh??) LOL There's a little pond fairly closeby, where a ton of Pelicans have been hanging out. There's really no safe place to stop and get out, as it's near a highway, and the pond in which they are, is lined with private homes. Everytime I drive by them, I think how I'd LOVE to be able to go on that private property to get close enough to them guys to get some good shots! Well, a friend of mine that was with me today, got permission to go ahead! They even said we could even use their picnic table. lol Omg, was I in my glory! Needless to say, I filled my 4 gig card up pretty fast, and it was only 8:30 am! LOL I vow to order another few cards :-) Anyway, no grunge today .. I tried grunging these guys, but it just didn't work out well. So, I left them alone. I hope you all are having a great day and If I dont see you before, I hope you have a great 4th! Parade tomorrow and a day on the lake and picnics and late night fireworks. Biggest day in the year for our family. Thanks for stopping by! All I can say is that anyone who can take candid shots of a pelican(s) is leading a charmed life, Sharilyn! I envy you so. I never see one of these majestic birds around where I live. Anyway, a pretty good shot considering the rather limited logistical photographic opportunities.
