At your best - strong composition with negative space, abstracted yet quite readable forms - poignant art. Bravo on the art, personally think the frame is too busy for the clean space of the paper - something super simple would be my choice. Off to rejoice on kicking the Brits out, tim

This communicates strongly to me. I feel a sense of being squeezed into a narrow space, in spite of the huge negative space of the canvas. I feel tension between the two figures, one crouched over, the other standing straight. As far as meditation goes, my personal focus is on the negative space, and allowing my spirit to float into the beauty of a dimension unseen by our physical eyes, a place of peace and calm. Wonderfully powerful painting, Ana.

Love it's title, Ana! When I do my meditation (almost every day), I like to go to a special corner I have in my room and there... alone and in calm with my thoughts I stay try to imagine and fix in my mind things that are not working well or just smile thinking everything is fine or like I would like it to be. (Difficult to express with words). Fascinating ;O)

Ana, I still can't get the words for this yet (lol), but it hit me right in the center. It's like two souls, as suzanne says: One is upright, the other is crouched; and they're surrounded by all that space. But even if you don't see two figures, it is two figures of the mind, like mantras or objects of concentration. And they're all concentrated in one spot—the left side of the image. That's how it is in meditation...And all the 'negative' space surrounding it (and I'd call it positive as well as negative) is the deep chamber of meditation itself. It's very intuitive Ana, and very true to meditation; and your brushwork is a world in itself, as always: the thick black next to that thick white, and the beautiful washes & blends...beautifully done. As for the frame, I can see where some people would call it 'busy': But you know what? In meditation, the outside world is like those frames: compacted and very busy; and yet all that activity is kept outside—like the frame—while our insides are all silence & penetration. A beautiful image; and, like many of your brush images, it goes places words can't go...
