I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Now once again this works! I'm not a fan of this grunge do-dah, but some look good, others not!

With all of our discussions about to grunge or not to grunge, I like this...and I think keeping the lady clean, but adding to the uniqueness of the background is my reason... Thank you for the wishes:)

Like an aged postcard that might have been handed down from an immigrant ancestor who landed on Ellis Island back in the early 1900's. Fine post work and very fitting for our 4th and a sweet dedication, Carin. :)

I like the effect on this picture. It gives a feeling of how long the Statue of Liberty has been standing there. Good job!

You grunged Le Grande Dame of Liberty? Carin! Actually, it looks pretty good and strikingly unique, with the statue standing contrasted amidst an ancient bronzed papyrus effect, suggesting that this art has been around for centuries, locked away in one of the Smithsonian museums.
West_coaster07
To goodoleboy...no Carin didn't grunge Le Grande Dame of Liberty! It was already done but thank god she found it and was able to clean up the statue itself and left the background alone....Harry you amaze me!!!! Love the photo...love the photographer!!!

Stunning artwork Carin.

This is amazing. Lady Liberty actually does look like a treasure somewhere down in the vaults of the Smithsonian. It's funny, but the way this looks also makes me think that some form of cuneiform writing wouldn't be too out of place here...that's how good, and authentically ancient it looks. Great work!

Lovely work Carin, the grunge fits perfectly

the one time I made it to NYC, the statue was closed for renovations for 150th anniversary of the USA.I did see it from a helicopter vantage point however.excellent and creative post work
