[best viewed full sized] Hello all! This pic was taken this afternoon on Calvary at Pantasaph Monastery, near Holywell, North Wales. Chrissy and I had gone there for the Monastery Fete to take pictures of the Cambria Band that we are friends with and were playing at the event. We arrived an hour early to be able to have a walk up Calvary Hill, behind the Monastery, which is a beautiful woodland hill walk with the picture shrines placed at regular intervals on the path and a large crucifx monument at the summit. This is a blend of four different exposures of the same RAW file with slight boost of colour and saturation, along with dodge and burn. Beautifully done I must say it is unsual to see those type of Shrines which are far more common in continental Europe.. Fine postwork, and use of the forground

There are 14 of these stations (shrines) along the route, 10 on the way up and 3 at the top around the crucifix and one final one in the "chapel" that lies below the crucifix. It's an amazing walk, very serene and well worth the half hour or so it would take to walk it and read the individual phases of Christ's journey to his crucifixion. Holywell is afterall the "Lourdes of Wales" and is deeply religious in it's history. I visited this calvary dozens of times as a child and I can say that today, it had the same sense of calm that it did way back then! Carl, you have captured the light magnificently in this deeply wooded area, bringing out the details superbly. Your postwork only emphasises the beauty and all in all, a fantastic capture, once again! Hugs babe xox
