Description

[best viewed full sized] Hello my friends! This pic is another from last Monday when Chrissy and I went out onto our North Welsh coast on a beautifully warm and sunny day - quite a contrast to the weather that we are currently experiencing which is cold, grey, miserable and raining. These swans were swimming in the moat on the grounds of Beaumaris Castle, Anglesey, North Wales, and we had stopped for quite a while to get a few shots of them. The picture is actually composed of two different shots as (as luck would have it) I couldnt get the mother and cygnet as close together as this in such a nice way naturally. The background has also been darkened as well as slight dodge and burn in post editing and a little tweak of the colours. Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are, as always, more than welcomed and valued!!! Carl.

I must say it looks sensational with the dark background Carl, and what a fantstic pose with the wings spread like that. The cygnet just puts the cherry on the cake, feather in the cap, final touch to it. Superb work. Bravo!!!!! Has to be a fav.

You've done a superb job, re-uniting this swan with its cygnet: it is a gorgeous photograph.

This is beautiful babe! The simplicity in the shot is what makes this so wonderful....graceful and majestic and a brilliant capture of the wings. Your postwork is amazing, as it is always but knowing how you wanted the end result to look is what I find fascinating....constantly composing the image in your mind and if nature won't provide it for you, then your skills in Photoshop will LOL! Excellent all-round capture, well deserving of a place in LWIG. xox
