Description

As promised on my last post, a closer view of the underground woodland retreat. _________________________________________________________________ Big Credit to HowieFarks for the scene "Beechdale" The bluebell models are by Flink. The idea here was I was trying to re-create my dream home, I always fantasised about an underground home in the woods. The doorway is only just big enough to enclose a spiral staircase and light is let in by a couple of glass dome skylights.

The fog/mist really adds the level of realism to the image. The prior one with its dark lighting is slightly more realistic, but this is also a fine render.

It is not terribly a fantasy: just google for earth sheltered house. It is a kind of houses which are almost completely buried but for the southern part, where all the windows are. The rationale for this structure is that soil temperature is almost constant along the year beneath a few tens of centimeters of depth, so heating/cooling is simplified and energy consumption is sharply reduced. Bye!!!

Great looking scene, nice subtle fog! Leaves would be a real pain in the fall covering those skylights.
