Description

From the time she was a little girl Princess Ayn knew that any hope for peace rested solely on her shoulders. She dreamed of being a Mage until the war took her father and brothers, leaving her the sole heir to the throne. Her education shifted to learning diplomacy and how to run the kingdom in preparation for the day when she will be Queen. The arrival of Rosha, Dalvo and Sulea was a blessing because it gave the princess the chance to once again practice the magic she loved. She was only a year older than Sulea and took it upon herself to be a mentor to the girl and her brother. Dalvo frightened her at first, but she came to see him as Sulea saw her brother --loving, caring and a fierce protector. When Sulea struggled with magic Princess Ayn encouraged her, getting her to laugh at some of her results and convincing her that there may one day be a use for a spell that would turn a chair into a fern. Over time Princess Ayn's feelings for Dalvo turned from friendship to something more, and he shared those feelings for her. They spent many nights in the comfort of each others' arms. Unfortunately being with the one you love sometimes conflicts with doing what is best. There hadn't always been a war; if she focused she could pull up memories of peaceful times, when the lands of Tesu lived in harmony. Those times are long gone, though, and now she must think about the future of Solis and her people. King Canu of neighboring Leyni has made her mother an offer; if Princess Ayn marries his son, Prince Josha, he will commit his armies and resources to the fight with King Hesphur. Refusing would be an insult to King Canu and would likely result in a termination of the currently amicable relationship between the lands of Solis and Leyni. No one said being a princess was easy.
