Description

There is a pond on the front lawn and I set out to catch a dragonfly. There she was, just sitting there, waiting for me. Bright blue! In the rush to set up, one of the rocks moved on me and I was sitting in six inches of pond water. Saved the camera and lost the dragonfly. Looked up and this was right in front of my nose. Don’t know what she was but she was laying eggs the shape of tiny rice grains. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments & favs. Dana

wonderful and interesting shot!!!! which insect/fly is that, I do not know unfortunately also. Most insects - also the ladybirds - put rice-granular eggs.

I think that "NightGallery" hit it on the head. I checked out Soldier Flies and that sure looks like what I was looking at. Dana
