Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Oh dear friend - what a wonderful image!!! That is exactly where I would go too if I had the ocean close to me!!!! I am sure you draw strength from those mighty waves in there endless ebb and flow!!! Hugsies, Carin :))

You may be resting there, but it isn't going to be quiet:-) But the sea has a rhythmic kind of crashing, splashing, rushing, receding, recurring sound to it that I've always found comforting too.

Looks like a ruminant place. Great shot

And I wouldn't blame you at all. What a beautiful place to just sit and stare out onto the horizon.

My favorite spot exactly. Except my waves crashed against granite shores. I’ll go back someday and share. Awesome capture. Dana

Beautiful! I love the layers of the waves breaking. Such a calming image.

your composition, the fact that you let the mass of the waves absolutely dominate, and only bring "peace" as we move into the distance, is wonderful. The "rest" here is not just in the lulling beauty of regular waves, but in the fact that all that activity dissolves into the infinite sky behind. It's really a piece of contrasts, and you're bold enough to let them exist without messing with them. A powerful & beautiful-hued shot.
