Description

You can always tell who will be next. Free stuff: Both models are V3 Dress texture in the forefront AJ Xmas wench by Anniebel Hair by Mylochka Free veil from Runtime DNA Background created using Artmatic Pro, Filter Forge, and The Gimp Posed and rendered in Daz Studio Framed in the Gimp I'm behind on my comments again, but will continue catching up this week. Honey dog, my adopted rescue was having disorientation problems, so, I was going through a mourning period. Turns out she's not senile, she's losing her vision. The vet told me to install night lights so that she can navigate through the house after dark. I'm sad for her, but feel better knowing she isn't losing her mind. So if ever you take care of an elderly dog that acts confused, be sure to check it out with a vet rather than assume the worst like I did. They even have senility medication now that is supposed to help when they do have cognitive problems. Thanks for looking and for your encouragement and support. Thanks adiemas , for suggesting I do another portrait with the mask on. Suddenly I find myself working on a series of vampire images. My creativity goes through various stages it seems. My vampires all want to have rosy cheeks instead of pale complexions. I guess they prefer to be well fed.

Beautiful render. The title leaves the viewer free to exercise their imagination as to what "Victim" actually means. Wonderful work. (Hoping for the best for your dog. Watching a beloved pet having trouble in their later years is heart breaking.)

I just really like your very healthy looking vampires. Well fed beings of any species always look much nicer then the undernourished ones, grins. The blood read sky with those wispy clouds is perfect! One would have expected the moon to be blood red also, but wisely you chose not to go that route, it would have been too much red. There is much more drama in a bright full moon .. Beautifully done! Poor Sweet Honey dog .. how difficult and upsetting this was for you, I know. It's amazing how accepting canines are of their situation .. they adjust rather then waste their energy fighting against what is. My thoughts are with you both.

Outstanding work, Cathy! Superb expressions and the bloody background evoke powerful emotions, and the overall composition gives a strong sense of drama, expectation and foreboding. I'm sorry to hear about your Honey dog - dealing with elderly animals is always hard. My thoughts are with you both.

Indeed beautiful play with the colors, a continuing elegant and creative series, that tell a perhaps wicked story, only left unto the imagination. The expressions are delightful on both characters, but one in the forefront seems to have one that foreshadows an ominous and overcast happening/event. A wonderful image, yet again!

Wonderful image, great expressions. Well, I'm glad your Honey dog will be alright, but so sorry she is losing her sight. One of those good news/bad news things huh? But at least the good news was IMHO better than the bad :)

one of the things I like about your work is the clarity. And I can't fully explain what I mean by that...except that you often get a crystalline quality in even your most complex images, even in images about amiguity or dark emotions, etc. Here, the two women stand out with total clarity even though you've rendered them with wholly realistic shadow & modeling (giving 3 dimensional shape & flow to them, on the rare chance that you don't know the meaning of the world in the traditional arts). It's very cleanly enivisioned. Then you have the postures & expressions, which are actually rather calm (the calm before the storm?), and then your passionate swirling background which is nevertheless subdued as if to say that the moment of attack hasn't arrived quiiiiiite yet...And the moon is beautifully hidden behind the swirls of the gate...Very nicely done, and clean in its vision, and as always with that touch of humor that typifies so much of your work: The composure of these women—considering what's lurking under the surface—is so ironically controlled! I realize all your works are thoughtful, no doubt from your years of artistic experience; you seem to be at the point where you just 'season-in' your thoughtfulness like the perfect amount of wine in a sauce; and the result is a taste on the tongue that's not too strong but everyone knows you used that special wine, and it permeates every inch of your dish. Another simple and beautifully designed piece.

This is a really beautiful one, Cathy. The posing is superb and the lighting is just right for mood, which is slightly left of the satanic and quite pleasant - not a bad experience in store... sort of thing. Love the stylised background.

I really like the background on this one, there is something about it that reminds me of Van Gogh's Starry Nights.
