Description

This picture is for Holly, otherwise known here at Renderosity as myquad. A lovely poser artist with a taste for the colourful, the gothic and the strange. Holly has been wanting to know more about the petting zoo Lama ever since I posted my first entry from the Toronto High Park Zoo a couple of weeks ago. This is for you Holly, thanks for all your support. Once upon a time there was a Canadian comedy TV series called Butch Patterson, Private Dick. One of the great things about being a Canadian is being treated to so much locally produced content - enforced (unwillingly) upon Canadian broadcasters. And all of it subsidized to some extent by the tax payer. This show was no different, as it proudly sports the Government of Canada logo during the end credits roll. Really, it would be one of the best gags of the show if it wasn't so true. So take that, Road To Avonlea. Old Butchy (as he often called himself) was (and supposedly still is) an incompetent, alcoholic, premature ejaculating sex addicted, kleptomaniac, deviant private detective for hire of questionable moral fibre who has a score to settle with the Pope. Let me tell you something, after 11pm you can get away with almost anything on Canadian TV. But don't think of him as a roll model, Butch is something more of an anti-hero, like Garry The Rat or Jerri Blank but on a much tighter budget. Hey, check out some highlights Sparkle Pants: Old Butchy on YouTube Through out the series we are often called upon to wonder if Butch's sexual interest are strictly confined to his own two legged species. An alleged 'incident' at the local petting zoo involving a lama is often cited as evidence. An accusation he always retorts by responding that he was, "only pettn' that lama". The series was filmed in Toronto and there are a lot of local sites and references, including of coarse the lamas at the High Park petting zoo. Speaking of Toronto, so sorry I've been away for a while. I've been on holiday in Toronto where I got to attend the Annex Fringe Festival. It's still on through this Sunday I believe. I highly recommend attending some of the shows. Though, it really isn't completely confined to the Annex district of Toronto and spills over into the U of T areas and extends as far south a Queen Street West. Wear some comfy shoes. Cheers!
