Description

The Street

Later that Wizardsday morning, as fresh rain clouds blow in from the distant sea, Cromik passes through another nameless village in the region of Phenets. His passage causes much consternation amongst the folk in these scattered hamlets. People in pointy hats are rare in these parts - and the great acts of magick they perform belong safely behind the walls of the Inthandonian College of Thaumaturgy in Thanhome or even more distantly removed in half remembered tales and legends of the past. Seeing an actual Wizard in the local village Street is altogether too close for comfort for these people. Their main contact with Magick is through the Church of Cosmic Uncertainty and the Local Hedgewitch or the state subsidized apothecary up at the local Pheldan Tower. These lesser magickians were able to supply tinctures and potions, cures for the gout, the ague and the flux. They performed minor divinations, revealing the sex of an unborn child or the best time to plant potatoes. Some could even find lost jewelery using a pendulum! Wizards with pointy hats however are a much scarier proposition - these Wizards, Warlocks and Witches could change the weather, even change the future itself. They knew many potent battlespells and possessed talismans and dire weapons of awesome and terrifying power. Every Thanian child knows that people in pointy hats are subtle and quick to anger and it pays to not meddle in their affairs! Provid Cromik pays these bystanders no heed. As a Senior Augurer, one skilled in the subtle and powerful art of divination by reading the patterns of natural phenomena, Cromik can see in the shape of a transient cloud or the patterns made by a small flock of passing gulls, that these quiet and honest country folk bear him no ill will. He passes them by, leaving nothing but a vague sense of disquiet that will be the subject of many conversations that evening in the local Green Dragon Inn.

This newer image was created specifically for a new online album in the 3d Art section at www.wizitch.com. The Album, called "The Chronicles of Inthandonia Part Two" contains 31 images, some of which are also displayed in my Renderosity Gallery, and tells an ongoing story. This new image features several new house models which Wizard recently created using the latest version of trueSpace. The image itself was composed and rendered in Vue. Apologies to the Tolkien purists for mangling his phrase.
