Description

Hello - this was taken at Ft Meyers Beach- Our artist's name is Wanda, she is Dave's cousin. We decided to hit the beach while we were down there. It was spring break. We had no idea it was spring break Augh! For what it's worth, I came home with a tee-shirt that says " I survived spring break in Ft Meyers Beach 2009" Back to Wanda. She made a whole turtle family. I have permission to post her and her turtles. I wanted to get shots of them before the crowd was too drunk and was stepping all over them. About 45 minutes after this picture was taken they were trampled on. She knew they would be, but made them anyway. I found out from the kids sitting in the chairs behind us, she made a whale the day before. We weren't there yet, sorry. I thought perhaps you might like to see. Thank you for looking. Thank you for all the comments on my previous posts, they are awesome and mean so much to me. You are all great people and I am proud to call you all friends. If you never looked at my pictures yet, then come to know one of my favorite quotes, I'm not sure who said it though. "A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet." Your friend always, Cheri

Wanda is so cool, and talented too! I got to help a bit even, people were walking by constantly, some would stop and watch, others took pictures. Spring break was different from the last time we made it down that way in 2002, when we had the whole beach almost to ourselves. The girls certainly dress differently for the beach down there than they do here. I came back with a very sore neck! I was wondering when Cheri might finally post this, and glad she finally had. That whole trip is filled with some really great memories, and fun times!

Good heavens, sand turtles! What exquisite worksmanship by your Wanda, a dynamic soon-to-be master sculptor. She really pops out against the light beige of the sand.

I love to watch sand artists do their thing and Wanda is very good. Too bad about the drunk kids not knowing where to put their feet, but that's spring break. Glad you got the shot and lived to tell about it.
