Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

unfortunately Bill, I didn't know you from the start, and one of these days I truly will go back and sit with your gallery from the beginning. But as I've been catching up in these marathon 'spurts', I've had the privilege of sitting with several of your images at a time, and it makes me appreciate your fineness all the more. I recognize about 7 of these, though I can see your touch in all of them. And what comes to mind, from the time I've been here, is a truly fine sense of quality, of fineness of eye & heart—of which you have in equal measure in your work and in your life—a masterful sense of the whole & composition & pov, a total respect for lighting (as any one will know, seeing your interior shots where lighting can be nearly impossible), your respect for many worlds—from birds to trees to the rolling hills of your beloved state to monuments to museums to planes etc—I could go on. And yet again, your love for sharing it all & your respect & friendship with the people you know here, and (on that) your always wonderful comments, even the info you pack into them wherever you see it will add. And then your writing, where you've taken us into amazing and touching stories. (You gonna start posting symphonies next month?) And that's not to mention your amazing 'historical' shots of Vietnam, which I flipped over. So let me say congratulations on 400 & I wish you tons more; it's been a pleasure of the highest order. Terrific place, this...
