UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

This is a very nice collage for a painful part of our history. Thanks for the link, too.

It's actually quite cute for a killing machine.

Well done to the ones who got it. Great collage. The pics are so clear.

Great collage, Bill. The Zero was known for its maneuverability. For that reason, the heavier P-40s flown by Flying Tigers (before the USAAF takeover of the unit - they got $500 per confirmed kill) would dive on them and get out, rather than engaging in dogfights. The six .50 caliber machine guns of the P-40s did a lot of damage.

Your historical knowledge of aviation is quite impressive... and so are your photography skills... Excellent series.... I'm enjoying your visit to the museum...

Ha ha ha, I knew it all along! That distinctive curved upslope of the tail gave it away. But how come you didn't list the names of the winners...lack of time? The POVs and lighting effects in this series of fotos are marvelous, Bill, that and terrific clarity on parade. Plus the added information about the aircraft.

Thanks, honey! :D I figured if I had to take the blame for the close-cropped shot, I better figure out the answer! LOL! You should volunteer your services to the museum's website. They have a perfectly nice picture of this plane, but yours are better.

Good way to get people checking their facts! Picyures are indeed better than the website. HOWEVER! Just don't take a picture of a Dzuz fastner and ask us Hmm!!!! ;)
