Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I really love these full "umbrella" type of trees. They always seem to be inviting me to climb them. Nice shot. Glad you posted it. Aloha

This has a shape like an acacia tree. I don't know if it is or not, but it's gorgeous. As always, your color-sense is perfectly on-target and the green is so incredibly restful and lush. Very Very well done!

A most inviting shape, not just to post but to sit under. I like the way the curve is almost echoed by the hill.

That tree is definitely something special. Its form is awesome the way it spreads into a green mound. But that mountain behind it is another story. Just how it goes straight upward.

all trees are holders of great strength & power, the largest plants on earth...I can see why they'd attract you. And trees like this are canopies for everything beneath and within them. Even the great redwoods (which are right in your backyard!) don't have canopies like this, at least relative to their size. They can be big protective goddesses, and your capture lets us see the context they're in, and see how it still stands out as a protective force. I can see why this called you, it's a powerful tree Marilyn.
