Description

Captured 5/29/09 at the beautiful Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in beautiful San Marino, California. Denise's posting of her transit bus station skylight a few days ago reminded me of this pair of pics I had taken when I was at the Huntington. I don't know the name of the particular building that featured this muted and perfectly round skylight, but it houses American art. I stood almost directly below the dome taking these pics, and in looking up almost tottered over backwards. I wasn't using my rotating LCD monitor camera on this junket. Just for the Photoshop fun of it, I also used the polar coordinates filter with these two photos. Ergo, the originals on top, the filtered versions below. Incidentally, with the stubborn overcast, it was a terrible day for photography. I'll have to return when it's not only sunny but also much cooler than it has been over the past week. Tallyho.

Now, I didn't know you could fiddle with polar coordinates. This is really special. Everybody is teaching me something new today. Any more of this and my head may explode. LOL. This is an excellent collage...very memorable.

How exciting to look up and see something interesting design. Actually I like the overcasted condition on these shots. Give a wonderful almost B&W tone. Good job Harry!

Fantastic images Harry!!! I love the fiddling! The lines, angles and circles just gel into a wonderful work of art!! Superb indeed! Send some of that heat our way... I find our winter this year particularly cold... Brrrr.

big, bold, in your face & beautiful skylight shots Harry, that fill up the frame in each shot. One of your single-subject pieces that shine. And you used the ol' Polar Coordinates filter just as it's meant to be used, you did it just enough to give us a totally new vision but never losing the original. (And the Huntington Library, et al, gets a "beautiful" designation: It's doin' better than Chino!) Striking & fun shots all around. Pure abstraction!
