Description

I have started redoing a model of a kingston flyer I did a number of months ago in order to see how my modelling prowess has progressed and how much easier lightwave will make things. So far I am happy with the progress. After day four I have rescaled some areas of the front due to sizing issues with the runners, I've started to make the basic shapes of the trains wheel gearing. Its taken a number of hours to work out how they work and then try to model them. (the true name fails my memory!) added a few cables and hoses and put on some rough wheels. Still a lot of detail and shaping going needed on the gearing and a lot more bolts and nuts here and there on the tank, especially where the boiler increases in size slightly. Please view full size to see the details. All is being modelled in Lightwave 9.6 Comments and suggestions welcomed.

That's looking really great. One little problem though, the parts that are projecting from the leading edge of the cow catcher are showing poly corners - maybe that is intentional but I think you may want to add some more edges there and get them a little more rounded. I see the same on the wheels but I'm sure that's just because you haven't started detailing them yet.

I had noticed the cow catcher but had promptly forgotten, I'll sort that out, the wheels are going to be completely redone, they are just there as a guide for the runners. they are only 24 point discs with wedges cut out at the moment. Thanks for your advice again, Its very helpful to get the opinion of someone who can look at it without bias! Thanks for your comments!
